Oh hi, thanks for stopping by! As you have probably gathered, I like to show my silly side and I’m very motivated by snacks.
For as long as I can remember I’ve loved to draw. In 4th grade, my dad handed me a Pentax K1000, sparking a lifelong love of visual storytelling. I took so many photos of my backyard, I was convinced I’d be the next Ansel Adams. I went on to art school to pursue my passion for drawing and photography (and, let’s be honest, to learn how to draw unicorns better). They gave me a BFA in photography & digital media, so I guess you could say I’m a photographer with a doodling problem—or an illustrator with a nerdy appreciation for lighting.
These days, I focus on making pretty pictures of things I love, like monsters from folklore, cute creatures, and yummy treats—all under the art direction of my two children. I'm completely obsessed with anything retro and I have a slightly unhealthy addiction to mid century furniture. I read stories with my kids in full character, and you better believe there’s a pile of picture books on my nightstand right now.
I’m a member of the Houston chapter of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators). I’m open to illustrating picture books and graphic novels, as well as editorial and hospitality projects. I’m also really good at rhyming and writing, which comes in handy sometimes. Actively seeking representation.
